Machebeuf Award

About the Emblem:

The Machebeuf is an archdiocesan recognition awarded to clergy by the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Committee on Scouting.

Eligibility:

    • Any Catholic cleric who is working in or supports a Scouting Program under Catholic auspices.

    • Any Catholic cleric who is working in or supports Catholic youth in scouting but not in Catholic units.

Purpose:

The Denver Catholic Committee on Scouting has created the Bishop Machebeuf award, named after Denver’s first bishop, to recognize clergy for their support of youth scouting programs under Catholic auspices. The medal is in the form of a biretta, the traditional headgear of the Catholic clergy.
