Girl Scout USA and Camp Fire Emblems

There are four Catholic Emblems designed by the National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire (NCCGSCF) and endorsed by the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM). These awards are specifically designed for Girl Scouts but can also be used by youth participating in the Camp Fire Kids program. A short summary of each emblem follows.

Family of God Emblem

This award is targeted to the Brownie and Starlight youth, grades 2-3. This award helps the young person develop as a Christian member of their family and parish and helps discover the presence of God in their daily life. Parents work with the youth as the advisor to help the youth discover their family Christian identity

I Live My Faith Emblem

This award is designed for the Junior and Adventure youth, grades 4-6. This award helps the youth understand more deeply the place of God and religion in their life. Parents act as advisor for the award and members or delegates of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry in the Archdiocese or Parish sign the completed workbook. This award can be completed individually or in a small group setting with a Parish approved moderator.

Marian Emblem

The Marian Award is specifically for the Cadette / young Senior and Discovery youth, grades 7-10. This award helps the youth understand Mary as a role model of openness and spiritualism, a woman of the Church. This award is designed to be worked in a small group setting within the Parish with a trained moderator.

Spirit Alive Emblem

This award is targeted at the Senior and Horizon youth, high school aged. This award helps the youth understand how the Holy Spirit moves within their life calling them to a greater participation in the ministry of the Church. Youth can work alone or with group within the Parish with a trained counselor/advisor. Work on this award must be completed prior to the 18th birthday.
